This short story is filled with beautiful drawings on a young boy and his journey to catch a star。 Through trying every way possible to catch a star in the sky, he eventually finds one on a beach and takes it home。 This short story connects the wonder of a small child and uses the theme that all dreams can be achieved, though it may not come the way you think it should。 It is an easy read for emergent readers。

I couldn't actually find this book on its own so I read it in The Boy: His Stories and How They Came to Be。 It's a quiet but cute little story。 I couldn't actually find this book on its own so I read it in The Boy: His Stories and How They Came to Be。 It's a quiet but cute little story。 。。。more

Reflections and lessons learned:Is there anything more grounding and yet meteoric as a star? Aha - a star falling into the sea… sweetly magical

This is a lovely tale about a boy who wants to catch a star because he loves them so much。 It's a dreamy, simply told story that would be a perfect bedtime read aloud for the dreamers and sky watchers among us。 This is a lovely tale about a boy who wants to catch a star because he loves them so much。 It's a dreamy, simply told story that would be a perfect bedtime read aloud for the dreamers and sky watchers among us。 。。。more

Not as good as Lost and Found, but there's just something about the illustrations in these books that really captures my son's attention。 The idea of capturing a star is precious, and I look forward to talking my kiddo to the ocean one day to see if we can see a starfish。 Not as good as Lost and Found, but there's just something about the illustrations in these books that really captures my son's attention。 The idea of capturing a star is precious, and I look forward to talking my kiddo to the ocean one day to see if we can see a starfish。 。。。more

。。。more

My son at age 7 is quick to tell you that he's outgrown picture books。 So I'm not sure how Oliver Jeffers manages to pull him in so consistently。 There are five picture books beside his bed right now, and only this one is by Jeffers and it was the only one he'd touch。 God Bless you Mr。 Jeffers!
